The National Book Week observation concluded at DAV Public School, Kalinga Nagar  with an interactive and enriching  session  ‘Meet the Author’ in which eminent writer, administrative officer  and winner of Odisha Sahitya Academy  award Sri Deba Prasad Dash (OAS) joined as the chief guest. The programme started with welcome address by the  Principal Sri Bipin Kumar Sahoo and  his powerful note on  the magic touch of books in changing the lives of people in general and of the pupils in particular even in an age  that heavily  relies on technology. It was followed by an interactive session by the chief guest.  While answering a number of questions asked by the students, the chief guest highlighted on the decisive role of books in shaping the lives of great men and women of the world and advised the students to make reading of books a lifetime habit. The chief guest felicitated the meritorious students of different competitions that were organized to mark the week long observation with certificate and trophy. The guest was felicitated on behalf of the school with shawl, silver jubilee memento and sapling. The entire programme was smoothly organized under the supervision of the school Library Committee with the whole-hearted cooperation of all the members of staff.
