The school is situated amidst the serene beauty of nature at the foothills of the historical landscape "Khandagiri & Udayagiri" the school saw it's dawn in July 1997. Founded by Late Major Ashok Kumar, the school presently functions in it's four storied building, well equipped with spacious class rooms, ultra modern Science Lab, Computer Lab, Language Lab, Library etc. Presently the school has classes upto senior secondary learn with due, affiliation from CBSE, New Delhi.
Being located at the outskirt of the madding crowd in a green ambience, the school provides an excellent learning environment.

Established on 6th July 1997, D.A.V. Public School, Kalinga Nagar had a humble beginning with 90 students and 17 staff members. It grew by leaps and bounds year by institution not only in size with 1200 students and 56 staff members but also in quality with year into a magnanimous remarkable achievements.

 The dream to build a school for providing quality education in Odisha was seen by Engineer Biren Chandra Pattnaik, the former Chairman, School Managing Committee. It has got the shape of reality within a span of 18 years due to the untiring labor and dedication of Dr. Keshaba Chandra Satapathy, the Principal of D.A.V. Public School, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
